Imaginos III: Mutant Reformation is the fifth solo studio album by Albert Bouchard and the third album in Bouchard's Imaginos trilogy, preceded by Imaginos II: Bombs Over Germany (minus zero and counting). It was released on July 7, 2023 by RockHeart Records, an imprint of Deko Entertainment owned by Albert and Joe Bouchard. The album consists mainly of material previously recorded by Blue Γyster Cult (as well as Stalk-Forrest Group), with the exception of six songs. "Mountain of Madness" is the only new song co-written by Sandy Pearlman. "The Queen's Graveyard", "Mothra & Starfish", and "Buddha's Knee" were written for Soft White Underbelly, the precursor to Blue Γyster Cult, and never saw an official release during the time they were regularly being performed. "Welcome to Desdanovaland" and "Arianna of Earth" are entirely new compositions by Albert Bouchard and Susie Loraine. One song, "Port Jefferson", was intended by Pearlman to be included on Mutant Reformation; however, the original demo for this song was unable to be found prior to the album's release and it was not included. After the album's release, Bouchard found the lyrics and the chord chart for the song and has expressed interest in releasing it in the future. == Personnel == === Music === * Prince Omega β drums, guitars, vocals, organ, horn samples, acoustic guitars, percussion, bodhran, synths, timpani, theremin, baritone guitars; piano (track 5); lead vocal (tracks 2β3, 5β6, 12β13, 15, 17); narration (track 11); all guitars (tracks 6β7); lead guitar (tracks 15, 17); chant, harmonies, ebow guitar (track 18) * John Willoughby β upright bass (track 1) * Susie "The Bomb Builder" Loraine β narration (track 1), harmony vocals (tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 13), background vocals (tracks 9, 12, 15, 17); lead vocal (tracks 10, 16) * Cyzon Griffin β drums (tracks 2, 3, 5β17) * David Hirschberg β bass; background vocals (tracks 5β6, 8β9, 12, 15β16) * Ace Bouchard β Moog Werkstatt (tracks 2, 13) * The Dictators (all track 4) ** Albert Bouchard β drums, background vocals ** Andy Shernoff β bass ** Keith Roth β lead vocal, rhythm guitar ** Ross "The Boss" Friedman β lead guitars * Mike Fornatale β electric guitars (tracks 5, 8, 15); lead and rhythm guitars, lead vocal (track 11); rhythm guitars (track 17) * Joe Bouchard β keys (tracks 5, 8, 11, 15, 17); guitar, lead vocal (track 14) * Steve Conte β lead guitar (track 5) * Mike Watt β lead vocal (track 7) * Kenny Aaronson β bass 6 * Greg Holt β violins * Richie Castellano β percussion, keys, lead and background vocals (track 8) * Dana McCoy β background vocals (track 8) * Eric Bloom β narration (track 8) * Steve Ridley β background vocal (track 8) * Benny Landa β lead guitar, slide guitar, acoustic guitar (track 9) * Joe Cerisano β lead vocal, background vocals (track 9) * RJ Ronquillo β lead guitar (tracks 10, 13β14) * Kasim Sulton β vocals, arrangement (track 11) * Ayumi Mitsuishi β Japanese narration (track 11) * Joan Levy Hepburn β top line vocal (track 14) * Isabella Kosai β background vocal (track 14) * Jim Bouchard β lead vocal, harmonies, chant, temple bell, banjo, melodica, Jew's harp (track 18) === Production === * Albert Bouchard β producer * Steve Hardy β mixing * Andy VanDette β mastering * McClee Mathias β engineer * Richard Zoll β front and back cover * Ace Bouchard β inner photos * Lee Stokes β album layout and design * Jeff Keller β management * Lenny Kaye β liner notes * Tracks 5, 8, 11, 14, 15, 17 recorded live at Carriage House Studios, Stamford CT * Special thanks to Steve Schenck, Blue Γyster Cult, Mark Stein, Kasim Sulton, Don Falcone, The Dictators, Richard Meltzer, Aldo Nova, Rich Niesen, Dom Berard, Peter McLean, Andy Travers, Francis Ciochon, Charli Calv, Bruce Pucciarello, Tom Morrongiello, Cold Weather Company, Mendelssohn Glee Club, Knuckle Head, Rising Dragon Tattoos, Johnny Montagnese, Tish and Snooky, Dennis and Cindy Dunaway, Lou Molinaro, Robert Gordon, Bill Moser, Al Kooper, Patti Smith, Lenny Kaye * Dedicated to the memory of Samuel Clark Pearlman == Track listing == {| class="wikitable" !# !Title !Writer(s) !Lead vocals !Length |- | colspan="5" |Side A |- |1 |Welcome to Desdanovaland |A.
