It was released in September 1978 by Columbia Records, peaking at No. 44 on the Billboard 200 and remaining on the chart for 12 weeks. It was certified Platinum by RIAA in 1988, having sold over 2 million copies worldwide, making it Blue Γyster Cult's best-selling album of all time. This album spawned one single, "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" / "E.T.I. (Extra Terrestrial Intelligence)", which did not chart. In 2007, Some Enchanted Evening was reissued with seven new bonus tracks from the same tour, as well as a DVD titled Some OTHER Enchanted Evening, which contains the band's full performance at the Capital Centre in Largo, Maryland on July 14, 1978. == Personnel == === Blue Γyster Cult === * Eric Bloom β lead vocals, stun guitar * Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser β lead guitar, vocals * Allen Lanier β keyboards, guitar, mixing * Joe Bouchard β bass, vocals * Albert Bouchard β drums, guitar, vocals === Additional musicians === * Tony Cedrone β percussion * Ricky Reyer β percussion === Production === * Sandy Pearlman β producer, mixing * Murray Krugman β producer * Corky Stasiak β engineer, mixing * Jay Krugman β pre and post-production engineer * Gregg Caruso β mixing * George Geranios β live sound * Paul Mozian β tour manager * Road crew: ** Ricky Reyer β guitars ** Sugar Bear β keyboards ** Tony Cedrone β drums ** Paul Laporte β monitors ** Joe Lauro β security, dressing room ** Kenny Welch β special effects ** Rick Downey β crew chief, lights ** Michael Graham β rigging ** Bruce Slayton β TCB ** Steve Schenck β advance ** Bruce Friedman β lasers * Hillary Vermont β cover concept * Marty Pekar β cover concept * T.R.
