Extraterrestrial Live is the third live album by Blue Öyster Cult. It was released in April 1982 by Columbia Records, peaking at No. 29 on July 3 and holding for two weeks. The album was recorded over a period of nearly two years, spanning from the 1980 Mirrors tour to the 1981 Fire of Unknown Origin tour, with two tracks recorded during the Black and Blue tour alongside Black Sabbath, with whom Blue Öyster Cult shared a manager in Sandy Pearlman. Midway through the Fire of Unknown Origin tour, drummer and founding member Albert Bouchard was replaced by longtime road crew member Rick Downey.
