Career of Evil is the first track from Blue Öyster Cult's third studio album, Secret Treaties. It was released as a 7" single with "Dominance and Submission" as its B-side, which did not chart.

  • The single version of this song differs from the album version by removing Albert Bouchard's part of the lead vocal, removing the second verse and chorus, and changing the following lyrics:
    • "I want your wife to be my / Baby tonight, baby tonight" was changed to "I want your life to be mine / Maybe tonight, maybe tonight."
    • "I'd like to do it to your daughter on a dirt road" was changed to "I'd like to do it like you oughtt'a on a dirt road."
